About Akkedis Cottage

Akkedis cottage is a small 1 bedroom unit alongside its sister cottage, Gecko (also bookable here).  This self-catering unit has everything you need for a week-end or mid-week getaway and is the perfect base for exploring the winelands.

A King Size bed offers a fabulous nights sleep.  The room also has a single bed for a 3rd guest. The en-suite bathroom has a lovely hand-decorated shower and the kitchenette is fully equipped with a 2 plate hotplate and electric fryer (no oven) and microwave.  Fridge and tea / coffee is provided.  Small seating area in the cottage has a unique fireplace made by owner and local artist, Andrea Desmond-smith who has also decorated the entire unit with her unique wall murals.

The fynbos garden is a delight and you are invited to take a stroll, find the many statues dotted around, walk the labyrinth, swim in the dam and have your sundownsers there while watching the spectacular sunsets Franschhoek is well known for.

Akkedis Cottage soaks up the country atmosphere while offering all the home comforts, with beautiful views across Franschhoek valley..

Stunnings evenings spent in the lapa under the trees where you can braai while enjoying the peace, serenity and Franschhoek’s spectacular sunsets.

Quiet and private and one of the few pet friendly accommodation options in Franschhoek.  No children under 12.
